Endnote & Assignment 3

We had a lesson in the Library today to go through Endnote. Even though I used Endnote to reference my Maths EDN110 assignment, I didnt feel too confident in using the program, however it turns out that I was doing it correctly so thats great. I didnt know how to import a reference from a website or a journal article which I know now how to do.
We also started talking about Assignment 3. Which was very overwhelming considering Assignment 2 isnt submitted yet. We formed our groups, as it is a group assignment. There are 5 in my group, so I am hoping that between the 5 of us, we are able to find out alot of infromation and put a good effort in and get a great mark. We are all being awarded the same mark and having spoken to the other members of the group about other units, they are all aiming for high marks.
Jenni told us that Assignment 3 would be to create a resource that teachers could use. That is, create an authentic lesson/project for students to complete. It aimed at the students, but what a teacher could pick up and use for their class. It is to contain useful information, websites/books/worksheets, smartboard websites and videos.
All the information is to be uploaded onto a Wiki so our peers can view what we have done and are able to access it when on prac if need be. "A wiki is a type of Web site that allows users to add, remove, or edit and change available content. The fundamental wiki characteristic is an 'edit' link allowing access to the source document." I think wikis are much like the Googledocs that Jenni sends to us all for the tutorial that we type in and everyone is able to see. I still love that! Its such an amazing thing.
Jenni told us today or a student that was sick and unable to attend class, went onto Skype and joined in the tutorial. 7 Weeks ago I would have never thought of using technology like that and now its so imbeded into my life that I wonder how I did things before!!!
