We had our first group meeting for Assignemt 3 on Thursday.  All the members of the group seem to be on the wavelength and are aiming for the same grade (High Distinction).  There are 5 members in our group including myself.  The other members of the group are; Jodie Burrage, Rae Harvey, Jo Bulsing and Chris Pickering.  I get along well with all of these people and am excited to be working with them on this assignment as I think we will all work well together and have similar standards in our work.
We have decided as a group to use the topic of Nutrition aimed at year 4, with a follow on for year 5. We thought that by putting in the extra information for year 5, we would not only be fullfilling the HD requirements, but if a teacher has a split year 4/5 class the information will still be relevant and useful for them.
This week we were all assigned a task - find 2 examples of Nutrition in our specified area. Jodie was looking for interactive whiteboard resources, Rae was looking for websites, Chris was looking for movies or podcasts, Jo was looking for social networking and I was looking for documents. I have found a great one on Crunch and Sip, the PDF has alot of useful webpages and information that schools can use to become part of this initiative.
I have had some trouble trying to find another PDF, as my computer wont allow me to open the pages.
We have said in our group meeting that if you are not able to find an example of your given task, then try to find examples for the other areas.
I have found a really nice Youtube video for nutrition - The nutrition song.
We will be getting together on Thursdays to go through our work for the previous week and to assign tasks for the following week.  Jodie will also be putting meeting minutes on our Google.docs aswell for everyone to see.
One of my jobs was to set up the Google.docs so we all had access to it.  I used to example one Jenni showed us in our tutorial as we all agreed it was best to use one set up by the tutor, that way it covers eveyrthing and isnt bias to one persons thinking.
